Description
On the north end of town we have an historic old farmhouse w/barns & pasture land. Goats, llamas, cows, horses & chickens are free to roam about. I love this scene at day's end w-the cattle grazing near the the pond surrounded by trees just as they are beginning to head home...thus, 'til the cows come home'! Most assume the saying is of Scottish origin & from the fact that cows in the highlands were put out to graze until the end of summer when they would find their way back home to be let in for feeding. Grass on the hills was plentiful, so the cows would stay out for months before scarcity of food brought them home in the autumn. And, there you have it.
