Creating these one-of-a-kind flower abstracts is a welcome departure from the tedium that can sometimes overtake the joy of painting, especially if too much detail work is involved! An ode to my paternal great-grandmother, a lovely 'colleen'. In days of yore my wonderful grandfather would sing the old Irish songs she taught him as a child to his four 'wee' granddaughters, which of course included 'My Wild Irish Rose'!
